What is DRIVE?
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health (OMH) partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop the Data Resources and Integrated Visualization Ecosystem or DRIVE.
DRIVE is a data visualization ecosystem built using data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the American Community Survey (ACS) to describe five factors in the race/ethnicity categories included in the Census data. These five factors are Education, Housing, Finance, Language, and Other Resources.
Visit the DRIVE Dashboard with 2024 ACS data.
How can I use the DRIVE dashboard?
The purpose of developing DRIVE is to integrate data from the U.S. Census categories to visualize some commonly used factors or measures in public health and health care. These visualizations can inform individuals, practitioners, and researchers of measures that are relevant to their work and prompt new ideas.
DRIVE can help you find relevant ideas and data that can help you with your next project, study, or report.
DRIVE can be used to inform research, strategic planning, program design, and evaluation related to public health issues.
Below, we present two case studies that can be used to visualize real data, prompt ideas and discussions:
