National Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Toolkit

The HHS Office of Minority Health honors National Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

May is National Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! During this annual observance we celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities across the United States. It is also a time to promote prevention and access to trusted health information that can help communities live longer, healthier lives.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) is committed to enhancing the well-being of racial and ethnic minority populations and American Indians/Alaska Natives by prioritizing chronic disease prevention and supporting the Administration’s mission to Make America Healthy Again. During National AANHPI Heritage Month, HHS OMH encourages Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific islander communities to take control of their health by continuing to implement healthy lifestyle choices like eating real, whole foods, getting enough sleep, limiting screentime, and staying physically active to prevent serious chronic health conditions.

The resources in our National AANHPI Heritage Month Toolkit are free to use and designed to help organizations, advocates, and individuals join the conversation around improving AA and NHPI health.
